AI Custom Fields allow you to automatically generate enriched information about your prospects or their companies using AI.
They can use data already stored in Crono, as well as information available online. AI Fields can search the web, visit a company website, and extract relevant information directly from the page based on your custom prompt.
This means you can enrich prospects at scale with fresh, contextual data without manually opening tabs, browsing websites, or copying information yourself.
AI Custom Fields are especially useful for bulk prospecting workflows where you need to understand what a company does, personalize your outreach, segment prospects, or qualify leads faster.
For example, you can use AI Custom Fields to identify a company’s industry, summarize what the company does, extract key value propositions from its website, or generate personalized messaging insights.
You can create up to 5 AI Custom Fields per workspace.
Follow instructions below:
Go to the Lists page
Click the Create AI field button
Give your field a name
Write the prompt that instructs the AI on what to generate
Insert variables to reference specific data points from Crono
Your prompt determines the output. It should guide the AI on what insight you want and which data to use.
Example prompt:
Based on the company industry and role of the contact, explain how our product can create value for this prospect in one short sentence. If you can’t retrieve the info, don’t invent the answer and respond “Don’t know”.
You can view and manage all the AI Custom Fields created in your workspace from Settings → Fields Management. From this section, you can configure how each AI Field behaves when new contacts are created. If you click on the AI Field you want to manage, you can enable the following functions:
Creation form: Enable it to display the AI Field when creating a new contact.
When this option is enabled, the AI Field will appear in the contact creation window before the contact is added to Crono. This allows you to enrich the field directly during contact creation, without having to open the contact later.
Auto-enrichment: Enable it to automatically enrich the AI Field when a new contact is created.
When this option is enabled, Crono will generate the AI Field value automatically during contact creation, so you do not need to enrich it manually.
This is useful when you want every new contact to immediately include AI-generated insights, such as company summaries, qualification notes, segmentation details, or personalized outreach suggestions.
You can enrich both single or multiple records.
For single enrichment:
Open a contact, click Enrich, and choose which AI Field to generate.
For bulk enrichment:
Select multiple contacts
Click Enrich
Choose AI Field
Select the field to enrich and apply
Crono will generate the AI Field value for all selected contacts at once.
AI fields can be used in 3 main ways:
Quickly extract useful context about prospects or companies (e.g., business model, potential value fit, challenges).
AI fields become searchable and filterable.
For example, if your AI field identifies whether a company is B2B or B2C, you can filter only B2B companies and tailor your outreach accordingly.
AI fields can be used as variables inside templates.
When added to a message template, Crono replaces the variable with the enriched AI insight for each contact.

If your AI field is “How we can bring value”, your template might include an AI variable like:

when sending the message, Crono automatically fills that section with the generated value tailored to each contact.
