Crono Automations allow you to create rules that automatically trigger specific actions when certain events or changes happen in your workspace.
You can use automations to reduce manual work, keep your data updated, stop sequences at the right time, and create follow-up tasks based on contact, company, deal, or signal activity.
You can find Automations by going to Settings → Automations.
The Automations page is visible to all users. However, the Default automations section is only available to managers.

Default automations are subscription-level settings and can only be managed by managers.
These automations apply to the whole workspace and can be enabled or disabled using a toggle.
The available default automations are:
Stop sequence when meeting is logged: Automatically stops a sequence when a meeting is logged for a contact.
Stop company sequences after a sequence’s positive reply: Automatically stops sequences for contacts within the same company after a positive reply is detected.

Custom automations allow you to create your own rules based on an IF / THEN logic and these can be user-based.
This means that you can define:
IF something happens in Crono
THEN Crono performs a specific action automatically
To add a new rule, click the Add rule button on the right side of the page. Then, select the type of automation you want to create. There are three main types of custom automation actions:
Sequence Stop
Status/Field Change
Create Task

Each automation type allows you to define different triggers and actions depending on the workflow you want to automate.
Use this type of automation when you want Crono to automatically stop sequences based on a specific change.
You can trigger the automation when:
A Contact, Lead, or Company status changes to a specific value
A custom field on a Contact, Lead, or Company changes to a specific value (please note that only List and MultiSelect custom fields are supported).
A Deal stage changes to a specific stage within a pipeline
Crono can automatically:
Stop sequences for the specific contact
Stop sequences for all contacts belonging to the same company
This is useful, for example, when a contact becomes a customer, when a company reaches a specific qualification stage, or when a deal moves to a stage where outreach should stop.
Use this type of automation when you want Crono to automatically update the status or a custom field based on a specific activity, event, or signal.
For Contacts and Leads, the automation can be triggered when:
They are enrolled in a sequence
They reply to an email or LinkedIn message
A reply is detected with a specific sentiment: positive, negative, or neutral
They answer a call with a specific outcome, such as:
Not interested
Call back
Send email
Meeting scheduled
Not the right contact
A meeting is booked
An email bounces
They accept a LinkedIn invitation
A sequence is stopped for a specific reason, such as:
Reply
Meeting
Opt-out
Account status
Opportunity stage
Owner change
Sequence completed
Manual stop
The automation can also be triggered by events and signals, including:
Role change
Company change
Website visit
Hiring signal
Email opened
Email clicked
Crono can automatically update:
The Status of a Contact, Lead, or Company
A custom field on a Contact, Lead, or Company (please note that only List and MultiSelect custom fields are supported).
This helps keep your CRM and Crono data aligned without having to manually update records after every interaction.
Use this type of automation when you want Crono to automatically create a task after a specific change or event.
The automation can be triggered when:
The status of a Contact, Lead, or Company changes to a specific value
A custom field on a Contact, Lead, or Company changes to a specific value
A Deal stage changes to a specific stage
An event or signal is detected
Crono can automatically create a task on the contact, such as:
Call
LinkedIn invitation
LinkedIn message
LinkedIn voice note
LinkedIn Inmail (only with an active Sales Navigator licence)
LinkedIn profile view
LinkedIn like last post
To-do
For company-level rules, such as Company changes, Deal changes, Website Visits, or Hiring signals, Crono can only create a To-do task on the company.
This is useful when you want to make sure your team follows up at the right moment, for example after a website visit, a deal stage update, or a relevant signal.
When creating a custom automation, you will need to give the rule a name. The rule name is mandatory.
Managers can also enable the option Apply rule to all users. When this option is enabled, the rule applies to the whole subscription. Other users will be able to see the rule, but they will only have read-only access.
Each automation can include up to 5 exceptions.
Exceptions allow you to exclude specific records from the rule based on:
Status
Custom field values on Contacts, Leads, or Companies

This gives you more control and helps avoid triggering automations on records that should follow a different workflow.
From the Automations page, you can search your automation list and review the rules that have been created.
Rules can only be edited or deleted by the user who created them.
Crono also prevents duplicate rules from being created. If a rule conflicts with another shared automation, Crono will flag it and show that the rule has been disabled due to the conflict.
