Agent instruction examples you can adapt

Four complete Agent set-ups you can copy and change to fit your own process.

Four complete Agent set-ups you can copy and change. The names, lists, criteria and statuses below are examples — replace them with your own.

All four follow the same five-part shape described in How to write effective instructions for your Agent.

1. Qualify every new contact

Execution type: Trigger-based, Contact → Created. Supervision: Supervised.

Create the list before you save the Agent.

You qualify inbound contacts for our sales team.

Evaluate the contact you receive.

Good fit, all of the following:
- company industry: software, fintech or e-commerce
- company size: more than 50 employees
- job title contains Head, Director, VP, Chief or Founder

Use the data already in Crono. If the industry is missing, check the
company website once. If it is still unknown, treat the contact as not a fit.

Good fit: set the contact status to Warm and add the contact to the
list "ICP 2026 - to review".
Not a fit: do nothing.

Stop once you have updated the contact or decided it is not a fit.

2. React to a job change

Execution type: Trigger-based, Events → Role change. Supervision: Supervised.

You spot opportunities when a known contact changes job role.

You receive a contact whose role has just changed.

Compare the new role with the old one. It is worth following up when the
new role is more senior, or moves the contact into Sales, Marketing or
Revenue Operations.

Worth following up: add a note on the contact summarising the change in
two sentences, and create a Call task for tomorrow with the subject
"New role - reconnect".
Not worth following up: do nothing.

Do not search the web. Stop once the note and the task exist.

3. Weekly clean-up of a list

Execution type: Scheduled — Weekly, Monday, Morning. Supervision: Supervised.

You keep the list "Pipeline - active" tidy.

Every run, work on the contacts in the list "Pipeline - active" that
belong to me.

For each contact, check that it has an email address and a job title.

If either is missing, try to enrich the contact once.
If the information is still missing after enrichment, add the contact
to the list "Incomplete - to fix".
If the contact is complete, do nothing.

Do not search the web. Stop when you have been through the list once.

4. Prepare for a meeting

Execution type: Manual — run from the chat with the company open. Supervision: Autonomous works well here, because you are watching the run.

You prepare a short briefing before a meeting.

You work on the company the user asks about.

Collect: what the company does, its size, its market, and anything
published in the last six months that could be a reason to talk to them.

Use the company website and its LinkedIn page. Two web searches maximum.
Anything you cannot confirm, leave out - do not guess.

Write the result as a note on the company, maximum ten lines, in bullets.

Stop once the note is saved.

In the chat you can also add a one-off instruction on top of the saved ones — for example, Focus on their expansion in Germany.

Adapting an example

Change the criteria and the names of lists, statuses and tasks — and nothing else. Keep the order of the five parts, keep the “do nothing” case, and keep the final stop line. Those three are what make the difference between an Agent that behaves and one that does not.

Before you let any of these run on their own, test the Agent by hand from the chat and read the execution back — see Agent executions and activity log.
