Agents are assistants you set up once and that then work inside Crono for you. You describe, in plain language, what an Agent should do; you decide when it runs and how much freedom it has; it does the work on your contacts, companies and deals.
The difference from the Crono AI chat is that an Agent has a saved configuration. The chat answers when you ask it something. An Agent can also start on its own: at a set time, or the moment something happens in Crono, such as a contact being created, a status changing, or a contact replying to a sequence.
When you click Create agent, you choose the type that matches your goal. The type decides what the Agent is built for and which actions it may use, and it cannot be changed afterwards.
Qualification — qualifies contacts and companies based on your preferred criteria.
Signal-based sequencing — builds personalized outreach sequences based on real-time intent signals.
Prospecting (releasing soon) — finds new companies and contacts and adds them to Crono based on your ICP and buyer persona criteria.
Lead re-engagement (releasing soon) — detects inactive opportunities and reactivates them at the right moment.
Meeting preparation (releasing soon) — creates automated pre-call briefs with context, insights and talking points.
Personalization at scale (releasing soon) — generates highly personalized outreach using signals, insights and external context.
Types marked (releasing soon) are not available yet — they are being rolled out over the coming weeks. Note too that not every type supports every way of running: the Execution type dropdown only offers the options available for the type you picked.
Depending on the agent type you choose and on the instructions you write, an Agent can:
read, create and update contacts, companies and deals;
add records to lists, and remove them;
create and update tasks, and add notes;
enrich a contact or company with an email, phone number or LinkedIn profile, and refresh scores;
search the web and read a company website;
work with sequences and templates, and enrol contacts.
It works only on the data of the user it is running for, and never outside your workspace.
It only does what your instructions describe. It will not invent extra actions.
It has no memory between runs: every execution starts from scratch.
It cannot see your screen when it runs on a schedule or from a trigger.
Qualify incoming contacts — every new contact is checked against your ideal customer profile, then updated or added to a list.
React to a signal — a contact changes role, visits your website or replies to an email, and the Agent prepares the follow-up.
Keep your data tidy — a weekly pass that fills missing fields or flags records to review.
Prepare for a meeting — on demand, the Agent researches a company and writes a summary in a note.
Agents must be enabled for your workspace. If you do not see Agents in the left menu, contact your Crono representative.
Every run consumes AI credits, so it is worth setting a limit — see Agents and AI credits.
Trigger-based Agents also need Webhooks enabled for your workspace — see Webhooks in Crono.
A workspace can hold up to 30 Agents, unless a different limit was agreed for your workspace.
In the left menu, click Agents. The Crono's Agents tab lists the Agents you own and the ones shared with you. Click Create agent to add one — see How to create and configure an Agent.
