This guide walks through creating an Agent and filling in each of its settings. If you are not sure yet what an Agent is for, start with What Agents are and what they can do.
Agents must be enabled for your workspace. Anyone can create an Agent for themselves; only a Manager can assign one to other people.
In the left menu, click Agents.
Click Create agent.
Under What agent would you like to create?, pick the agent type that matches your goal. The type decides what kind of work the Agent is built for and which actions it may use. You cannot change it afterwards.

Give the Agent a name: click Agent name… at the top of the page and type one. Use a name your colleagues will recognise in the list.
Optionally, click the avatar to the left of the name to change the picture.
Check the Description. It is pre-filled from the agent type. Keep it short and true to what this Agent does — Crono also reads it when working out what the Agent is allowed to do.
Choose Autonomous or Supervised with the buttons at the top right. Supervised is the default and asks you to confirm the Agent's main actions — see Supervised and Autonomous Agents.
Choose the Execution type: Manual, Scheduled or Trigger-based, then fill in the options that appear — see How to choose when your Agent runs.
Write the Instructions. This is what the Agent will do, in your own words, and it is the single setting that most affects the result — see How to write effective instructions for your Agent.
Under Guardrails, tick Do not delete any objects if the Agent must never delete anything. With it on, deletion is blocked whatever the instructions say.
On the right, set the AI credit limit — the maximum number of AI credits this Agent may consume per month. Leave it empty for no limit of its own. It cannot be higher than your workspace's monthly allowance.
Under Associated users, add the people the Agent should work for. You are added by default. Only a Manager can add colleagues.
Click Create.

The Agent now appears in the Agents list. If the Create button stays greyed out, hover over it: the tooltip names the setting that is still missing.
Name — required. Shown everywhere the Agent appears.
Description — a short summary, also used to work out the Agent's permissions.
Autonomous / Supervised — whether the Agent stops to ask before its main actions.
Execution type — required. What starts the Agent.
Instructions — required. The task, in plain language.
Guardrails → Do not delete any objects — a hard block on deletion.
AI credit limit — the monthly cap for this Agent. It refreshes on the date shown in the box.
Associated users — required, at least one. The Agent runs for these people, on their records.
Open Agents and click the ⋯ menu on the Agent's card.
Choose Edit.
Change what you need, then click Save.
Every time you save, Crono re-reads the description and the instructions to work out what the Agent may do and which of its actions count as the main ones. Always save after editing that text, even if nothing else changed.
